Thursday 15th October 26

A quiet evening tonight with 10 in attendance, including two guests.
Our president, Gareth led the meeting and opened with a summary of that evening's earlier committee meeting.

Our plan for the next 6 months.
Committee Meeting
Gareth, Nigel, Glenn and Michael attended the committee meeting. We discussed the need to do a changeover of the banking to the new committee. It was decided that we would need to visit a bank on a pre-booked appointment on a Saturday morning to fix this up.
The focus of the meeting was what the next 6 months will look like. In summary, our major focus will be the planning and production of 'Claim to Fame', a documentary with the feel of 'Race around the world', where film makers submit short documentaries/ dramas that highlight a location's claim to fame. Locations need to be Queensland based. The upcoming meetings will take two formats: Collaborative Planning sessions every 1st Thursday; and Regular BMM meetings every 3rd Thursday. The focus of both styles of meetings will be around this major goal and will link in with and inform the other. See attached image above for the upcoming agenda.
More information on 'Claim to Fame' will be out soon and will be expanded upon and worked out as a collaborative membership at the next meeting.
Gareth also brought copies of a script that he wrote. He would like us to give his thoughts on the script and on how we might move forward on that. We will get back to you Gareth.
Changes to website
Glenn discussed recent changes to the BMM website, including:
The removal of the 'Member's login' (which the only function was allowing access to post a blog- which nobody outside of the committee was doing anyway); The removal of the Green box at the top of the home page that identified the agenda for the next meeting (it makes sense to make better use of the 'upcoming events', which has now been moved towards the top of the home page). This 'upcoming events' section will now play a bigger role in promoting club activities. Firstly, Peter's Green Room hands on activities will continue to be promoted here; Secondly, regular meetings will be promoted here. Note: all events are shown in date order. They disappear once the date has passed.
The Green Room
Peter shared his upcoming Green Room activities. If you want to get learning in a hands on way, I thoroughly recommend that you contact Peter and get involved. His sessions are fun, interactive, relaxed and great learning. Did I mention that they are free?...
Goodbye to Paula
Peter shared a couple of videos during his presentation. This included a short one sharing tsome green screen practice shots; and a tribute to our recently passed friend, Paula White. The film included her acting in 'A Clever Con' and a couple of other films. Thankyou for the share Peter.
Michael's holiday shoot
Michael Ming, one of our longest serving members shared a video of his holiday to Moreton Island. An enjoyable movie with serene and action scenes of the wonderful things you can do at this island. Thanks Michael. Good job.
Nigel' Tech session
Nigel's depth of experience and movie making wisdom was once again made apparent as he shared his powerpoint about the specifics of movie making. His interspersed stories of his experiences added an enjoyable touch to his presentation. The purpose of this presentation, is specifically to tie into the direction of the club- that was clear with Nigel's focus that was presented at the earlier committee meeting. Thank you Nigel for your commitment, vision and guidance.
Although the meeting was quiet tonight, our intention is to 'Plan the work; and work the plan'. We are creating a major project that will be shown in a cinema screening towards the end of 2027. We invite all members past members and non-members to consider involving yourself in this project. See you at the collaborative planning session on Thursday 5th November.
