Summary of events from meeting of 1st October 2026

In accordance with our new strategy of committing the first meeting of the month to planning films, the focus of the evening was discussions and brainstorming around a major project and Ugg.
After Gareth introduced himself, he was given a quick tour of the web site and wanted to gain an understanding of what we do as he has not seen ANY of the major projects in the theatre. We showed him Paul’s The Salami Makers: A Taste of New Italy.
For the first planning meeting every month: Members present chose to pursue a cinema length production based on the themes of 'Claim 2 fame'/'Race around Qld' (they are closely related).
For the second meeting of the month, we agreed that the meeting should take the following format: technical, journey as a film maker, guest speakers (committee to meet to publish a plan).
For the next meeting on 15th October (second meeting): Concepts for Claim2Fame: Nigel to present a skeleton production process to realise the cinema length production from concept to delivery e.g.
Steps: concept, research, rough script, location, talent, field production, filming, lighting, sound, post production, promotion, showing etc (Nigel).
We also decided on the theme for the next UGG – 3~5 minutes: Comedy/tragedy, 6 weeks to deliver.
