Editing for professional outcomes

Paul Michaels gives his apologies for not being able to attend last night, 16/04/26. In his stead, I will update all of the evenings happenings.

As usual we began with David giving his fascinating President's report, letting us know about club happenings and opportunities. The film bite David shared was about a film called 'Missing' that is unusual for its use of screen captures of social media throughout the film. See the trailer above.

Glenn informed us that George has donated two karaoke speakers to the club. After testing them we decided they may not be practical for the club. Glenn will sell them and donate any funds to the club. (Thankyou for your generosity George!)

Nigel continued his series on Editing Guidelines. Thanks Nigel for such wise advice. Your experience is invaluable. We are looking at having an editing workshop soon where we will do 3 rotations and participants will be able to check out the functionality of different editing platforms.

Peter W updated us on his 'Me' project. This film is being screened at Elizabeth st theatre this Saturday at 2pm. It is sold out. Congratulations Peter!

Peter also shared 3 recent movies that were produced with various members under his 'GreenRoom' Saturday events. Great to see new movie makers getting involved in their debut directing and acting. These included: The Password + Happy Ending + Wish u were here (music fest.)

Sandeep made a pitch tonight for his first movie about a person who develops a challenging relationship with an AI personality. He is looking for collaborators for crew roles. There are only 3 acting roles.

Glenn updated us on how members' videos are added to the website; and also referenced to the club blog. He also thanked Joel for his input into creating a club youtube page and Instagram and pointed out that the youtube page is linked to the homepage of the BMM site. Joel followed this by encouraging people to subscribe to these social media sites and to look for opportunities to make posts.

Kosuke updated us with the latest edit of 'The Chill Dome'. This is an AI experiment that David and Kosuke are pursuing to see if it can be done to a professional standard. They seem to be well on track.

Finally, Ry shared with us his personal movie project. It was a short story that was very well done and entered into Tropic Fest. Ry wrote, directed and acted in it. Well done Ry!

David finished by asking us to think of ideas for the next Ugg competition. We finished at about 9:45.
